Welcome

Our club’s aim is to foster an interest in and the enjoyment of photography.  We do this through competitions, workshops, lectures, outings and meetings with other camera clubs.

Our members are all keen amateur photographers. Their photographic interests may vary – landscape, portraiture, sporting, abstract, etc.,  but they all share a passion for capturing great images, improving their skills and techniques and sharing their knowledge and experiences with other members.  Some examples of our members’ recent photos appear on this page.

ICM Presentation Via ZOOM with Pennant Hills PC

Dear Members,

Pennant Hills Photographic Club has invited us to join them via ZOOM for a Presentation by Christopher Weeks. “Exploring the world of ICM and abstract photography” on Monday 31st July 7:30pm.

This presentation couldn’t have come at a better time with Abstract being our set subject for August. No matter your preferred style of photography, ICM (intentional camera movement) will suit any genre you choose. Join us to learn a new skill or to improve your ICM technique.

Read on to find out more

In this presentation, photographer Christopher Weeks will discuss how developing an eye for art and abstract compositions, and learning to use a variety of ICM techniques can open up new perspectives and photo opportunities for any genre of photography you practice. This fast-moving presentation filled with examples of his compelling ICM and abstract photography will focus on pre-visualizing images with printed art as a goal, developing an abstractionist perspective, Intentional Camera Movement and Multiple-Exposure ICM photography, including special processing considerations.
A former commercial / advertising photographer for over two decades in the U.S., he was internationally published and received numerous awards for his photography. Now based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, he works exclusively on the artistic side of photography with a primary focus on Urban and Nature abstracts, Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), and Multiple-Exposure ICM. Christopher is often influenced by the abstract paintings of the 1960’s that featured vibrant colours and the use of deep black accents. He developed a multiple-exposure ICM style of photography that features vibrant colours and a motion-capture aesthetic. Christopher is part of the team at ICM Photography Magazine where he is a regular contributor and administrator.
Christopher is known for his engaging, quick-paced and informal presentation style. His talks and workshops are a balance of inspiring photographs, image-making philosophy, and technique, all aimed at inspiring participants to clarify their vision and develop the skills to express their distinct creative spirit.

A ZOOM link will be sent closer to the date. We do hope you can join us.
