Welcome

Our club’s aim is to foster an interest in and the enjoyment of photography.  We do this through competitions, workshops, lectures, outings and meetings with other camera clubs.

Our members are all keen amateur photographers. Their photographic interests may vary – landscape, portraiture, sporting, abstract, etc.,  but they all share a passion for capturing great images, improving their skills and techniques and sharing their knowledge and experiences with other members.  Some examples of our members’ recent photos appear on this page.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – New Start Time 7PM

Dear Members,

Please note that as of our next meeting Tuesday 21st May, club competition nights will commence at 7PM instead of 7:30pm. We ask that ALL print entries please be up on the display stands by 7:20pm as judging will commence at 7:30 sharp.

The committee feels this extra half hour will relieve much stress placed upon our wonderful helpers and those of us running the evening, who each month find the set up and pack up a mammoth task within the current time slot.

If you have any questions or concerns with the earlier start, please don’t hesitate to reach out by replying to this email.

PLEASE NOTE – Workshops and ZOOM presentations will stay at the old time of 7:30pm.

Regards

Your Committee

Old camera and Video camera – free to good home

Dear Members

I have been contacted by a gentleman with the following –

Hello,

I have a Kodak Retinette 1B 35mm camera plus leather case.

I wish to dispose of it. It seems a pity to throw it in the bin – it’s a nice camera  – around 50 years old. Probably in working order.

Actually 2 cameras – Camera attached. Video recorder attached

I think the Reninette light meter may need attention.

Is this of any interest to any of your members?

Location: Wahroonga 2076

Regards

David Rees

If you are interested, please contact David on Mob 0416 193 560

Welcome Back evening – This Tuesday 30th January

Dear Members,

We look forward to welcoming you back to club this Tuesday 30th January.

  • Following on from Nilmini’s presentation last year on Creating Competition Images, she will be sharing with us a second presentation called “Creating Compelling Images’. Images need narrative to be effective as visual impact alone may not be enough to engage your audience. Photography is a wonderful tool to construct narrative and Nil will be discussing how light, colour, technique, and image placement all contribute to a great story. This presentation will be an interactive one, where you will get the chance to look at images from different photographers and have a lively discussion with your peers.
  • Jakki will share some inspiration on this years set subjects.
  • Mat cutting with Sonia. Why pay someone else to cut your mats when you can learn to cut them yourself, using our clubs mat cutter. Sonia will do a quick demonstration and then it’s your turn. If you’d like to take this opportunity to cut yourself a mat, bring along some mat board and see how easy it is to create your own beautiful mats. Mat board is available from all good Art supplies, such as Art Scene in West Ryde.

The evening will finish with a light supper

We hope to see you there.

Warm Regards

Your Committee.

Christmas Picnic Cancelled

Hi All,

Unfortunately this rain is meant to continue all day and with the all the rain over this past three days, Croslands Reseve is quite boggy, so we have made the decision to cancel todays picnic 🙁

Due to the busy Christmas period, we don’t feel there would be a suitable date to suit most to reschedule, so we will save our celebrations until next year.

On behalf of the committee, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 30th January.

Warm Regards
