Welcome

Our club’s aim is to foster an interest in and the enjoyment of photography.  We do this through competitions, workshops, lectures, outings and meetings with other camera clubs.

Our members are all keen amateur photographers. Their photographic interests may vary – landscape, portraiture, sporting, abstract, etc.,  but they all share a passion for capturing great images, improving their skills and techniques and sharing their knowledge and experiences with other members.  Some examples of our members’ recent photos appear on this page.

HHCC – New Year Welcome and Portfolio Exhibition

Dear Members,

Our welcome back evening Tuesday 2nd February is just around the corner. This year, for one night only, our club’s “Portfolio Group” will be exhibiting their wonderful array of work for you to enjoy. You will see a vast arrangement of images from 10 photographers, displayed in many different formats. It really is worth a look.

Due to COVID restrictions, we are limited to just 37 people in the hall at one time. If you wish to attend this event, you will need to register via our website at the following web page – hornsbyheights.myphotoclub.com.au. You will see a green registration button to the right hand side on the page. You will then be able to enter your name in the form if you plan on attending.

Click here for more details of the event. Our COVID safe plan still applies, so please wear a mask.

We look forward to seeing you there, to support your fellow members.

Regards
Sonia Conn

HHCC- Annual General Meeting 2020

Hi Everyone,

The club’s AGM (Annual General Meeting) will take place on Tuesday, 1st December 2020 at 7.30pm, at Mt Colah Community Hall. We hope that all Financial Members will be able to attend; any apologies can be sent to the secretary – secretaryhornsbyheightscameraclub@outlook.com

This will be our last official meeting for 2020 and will close off an interesting year in the club. The AGM is an ideal time to find out what’s happening next year and enables you to provide input or feedback to the club and its members.

At the AGM there is an election of the Club officers and committee members. All current positions become vacant on the night and any financial member is welcome to submit a nomination for any role they are interested in. All positions are voluntary so if you are interested please submit a nomination form (attached) to the secretary, secretaryhornsbyheightscameraclub@outlook.com or bring along to the AGM. Attached is also a summary of the Roles and Responsibilities. All and any help is always very much appreciated.

We are looking for a volunteer in 2021 to be in charge of the refreshments which means the Coffee/Tea/Supper set up and looking after the supper crate. Please let the secretary know before the meeting if you can help. All help is really appreciated by the committee and its members.

We are putting together a great programme for 2021 with several social outings where you can learn technical skills etc. If you would like to help co-ordinate a social outing next year, please let the Events Co-ordinator or one of the committee know.

Please print off and bring a copy of the attached documents for your reference at the AGM

  1. 2020 AGM Agenda
  2. 2019 AGM Minutes
  3. President’s Report
  4. Treasurer’s Report – Audited accounts 2019, Unaudited 2020 accounts and Budget for 2021

HHCC – Competition Update

Hi All,

We wanted to provide all of our members with some important updates regarding our remaining competitions for 2020. Firstly is our Fun Competition for July – Still Life. We’ve extended the end date on this through until the end of August to give everyone time to enter. This will be a self scoring competition similar to our recent Fun competition. We’d encourage you all to have a go. Still life is something you can do at home!

Secondly, we have changed our September competition to Open. This was planned to be “Sounds” but given this will be our first meeting back together felt we would like to hold this over until next year. So hold back those sound images until we announce the new competition list in 2021.

Please note also that we will be returning to the normal submission rules for the remaining competitions in 2020:

  • Maximum of 6 images per competition
  • Maximum of 3 images in any one category

Finally, please note that the competition close off time has been moved back to 8pm on the Saturday prior to the competition evening. This is to allow additional time to prepare the photos. You will still receive a notification from the website to let you know when the close date is 3 days away.

Best,

Dave
