HHCC – 2022 Photo Rally
STOP PRESS – IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN – 7th MAY 2022 PHOTO RALLY
As this is our main outing of the year, we hope you’ve put it in your diaries and that most of our members will join us for our biggest social event of the year.
Hi Everyone,
It’s that time of year again and we are heading to Barangaroo, The Rocks and Darling Harbour (see map attached) where there are some amazing photo opportunities! And the weather looks good too!! We’ve expanded the area this year as most of us haven’t had many opportunities since
covid hit to get out and about in the city with our cameras. Details are attached, please see our flyer.
The brief will be given out on Saturday morning when we meet at 10.30am,
those that can’t make it, there will be an email sent out as well after 11 a.m.
It is important that anyone attending send an email with their phone number just in case any details change, to elaine.holliday@ymail.com or
secretaryhornsbyheightscameraclub@outlook.com, or you can text or call so that I know who is coming. I have made a WhatsApp Group so we are able to connect with each other.
Don’t worry if you don’t have WhatsApp as we can communicate by text. Anyone who has already let me know they are coming doesn’t need to let me know again.
See you on Saturday.
Elaine

HHCC – Printer to a new home…
Hi Members,
A previous club member, Amanda Robertson, has a printer she is looking to give away. Details below. Amanda has provided her number at the bottom if you are interested….
The reason I’m contacting you is that I have a canon printer PRO-100S plus a whole bunch of ink cartridges and photographic paper that I’m looking to give away. The canon printer won’t connect to my Apple and so I haven’t been able to use it, we are moving to the country and I’m having a big clean out.
Would anyone at the club be interested in taking these off my hands. I am in Warrawee and they can be picked up at anytime. Alternatively if you have a club meeting coming up soon, I could arrange to drop them into the club.
Best wishes
Amanda Robertson

Landscape and Aerial Photography Presentation Tuesday 5th April 7:30pm
Join us online on 5th April for our next presentation.
“Landscape and Aerial Photography” is an educational and engaging presentation by Internationally-acclaimed landscape photographer Mieke Boynton. In 2008, Mieke travelled to the rugged and remote Kimberley region of Western Australia and promptly fell in love with the landscape. She took up photography as a means to share her amazement with family and friends, and quickly caught the photography “bug.” Mieke became a full time professional photographer in 2018 and that same year, was named “Victorian Travel Photographer of the Year” by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. In 2019, she was awarded the title of AIPP Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year. She is the first Australian and first woman ever to win the renowned Epson International Pano Awards, with three of her abstract aerial photographs receiving Gold Awards. In 2021, she achieved her Masters distinction with the prestigious Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP) – one of only 5 successful applicants world-wide. Mieke now lives in the beautiful alpine township of Bright in Victoria where she and her photographer partner Matt Palmer run the “Alpine Light” photography gallery. Her “Landscape and Aerial Photography” presentation begins with a very brief explanation of her background, and then – through audience interaction – highlights a series of maximum-impact elements of Landscape Photography in an engaging and entertaining way. The advice given is valuable for photographers at all levels. She also presents a selection of her aerial photographs and provides some useful advice for members if they wish to try their hand at this genre. There are plenty of opportunities for discussion and questions too! www.miekeboynton.com
