Updated Competition Definitions
Dear members,
Please find attached the updated Federation of Camera Clubs (NSW) Competition Definitions. These Competition Definitions will be used for both the Topshot and Interclub Competitions starting in 2023. There have been some changes to multiple sections as well as the introduction of a new section, Drone/Aerial Photography.
Please read this document carefully, and familiarise yourself with the changes to ensure any images used from previous years still comply with the current Definitions. FCC Competition Definitions
Also note under “Australian Landscapes” – No modification that changes the truth of the Landscape image is allowed. Images may be cropped but no other technique that removes, adds to or moves any part of the image is allowed. This includes replacing of a sky.
If you have any questions regarding these updated definitions, please don’t hesitate to raise them at our next club meeting on Tuesday 21st February.
Regards
Your Committee

Mat Cutter – Borrowing system
Dear Members
As you know, we have purchased a mat board cutter for use by the members of the Hornsby Heights Camera Club. The mat board cutter is being housed by one of our committee members, Nilmini De Silva who lives in the Hornsby area.
If you wish to borrow the mat board cutter, please email Nilmini at nilmini@polisplan.com.au with the following details – Name, Phone and date of preferred borrow. Nilmini will then message you with her address and phone number to discuss a suitable pick up and drop off date and time.
Please watch these YouTube videos (Click here & here) before using the mat board cutter for the first time. These videos have lots of useful information regarding how to use the mat cutter and when to use the slip sheet (when bevel cutting), how to store the straight cutter in the safe position, how to change blades etc. Especially note that you should always store the mat cutter in a flat position.
Should Nil be away, the mat board cutter will be housed elsewhere and you will be notified by email of the period and who to contact.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Generally, Nil would prefer the exchange to happen during the week, unless she is home at the weekend at a time suitable to you and her.
- The mat board cutter should only be borrowed once you have your prints ready.
- Borrow time is limited to 3-days, to make sure it is readily available to everyone who needs to borrow it.
- Please make sure you don’t wait till the day before a competition to borrow the mat cutter as it may not be available.
- The mat cutter can be returned on a club night by prior arrangement as long as you are sticking to the 3-day rule.
- Please make sure you check everything is back in the bag before returning as there are a few small pieces that can easily be overlooked. A list of contents will be available in the bag for you to check items off when re-packing the mat cutter.
- Please make sure that you know how to cut your mat as Nil may not have time to demonstrate to everyone who borrows it.
- We will keep a register of when you borrowed, when you returned and check all the bits have been included.
If you have any questions that were unanswered by the above You Tube videos, feel free to contact Sonia at sonia.conn@gmail.com for extra support.
Regards
